This is an eclectic debut EP from a Scottish singer/songwriter. The opening track "Call On You" boasts distinctively poppy guitar riffs and drum fills, before the album moves into a more country and folk sound with "Love You Lord". One of the most beautiful songs on the album is "Immanuel" that speaks of our dependence on Jesus and his sovereign power. Baker's vocals are sincere and pure while his lyrics are based on Scripture. He says that issues such as poverty and injustice influence his music, and this is most clear in "Your Eyes" and "Build Your Kingdom". The acoustic guitar part in the former is a clear highlight of the album, as are the stunning backing vocals. Most of the tracks on the album would work as congregational song and overall this is a pretty strong album. Reviewed by Emily Lucas
