Meet Rechord

Over the next few days I want to introduce you to RECHORD.

I will be posting songs from artists they work with because I believe in what they are doing and I am so excited to hear their great music they are producing.

Here is what they say about themselves.

Rechord is a not for profit organisation that exists to break through the financial barriers which prevent us from worshipping God with the gifts He has given us. We’re going to do this by scouting out great worship song-writers and empower them by recording, producing and distributing their music globally. For free. We exist to release the gifts that God has given to his people directly, and at no cost, to where they were intended: the church.

Some Artists From So Far Sounds I Met

I had a great time playing So Far Sounds in Cambridge and met two great musicians. I wanted to share their music with you.

The fabulous Elliott Morris live in session at Cafe Ziferblat, 'Eyes' is Written and performed by Elliott Morris, March 2015. Audio recording by Alex Watts

E.W. Harris Live @ L.I.C. Bar, New York City - "Only Wind Up Dead" http://www.ewharrismusic.com

Coming Soon: A Collection Of Folk

I am really excited to announce that I will be playing at “the church at the other end of guitar-store heaven Denmark Street – St Giles-in-the-Fields – known as the Poets’ Church, whose ethereal and shadowy building has hosted performances by Bon Iver and Julianna Barwick as well as poetry readings by Patti Smith (who named it one of her favourite churches in England).” – Time Out

And if that is not enough to get me excited I will performing at "A Collection Of Folk" which is an event held in St Giles by a charity called Lupus Albus who make music accessible to homeless and ex homeless people. The charity runs songwriting workshops for homeless people. I am really glad to be a part of what they are doing by performing in this iconic sanctuary and stand with homeless people for their rights.

So far sounds: Cambridge

I had a great night last night with @sofarsounds in Cambridge joined by E.W Harris and Elliot Morris two excellent songwriters and musicians. It was so much fun. So far sounds is one of the best ways to not only play and perform but to listen to and appreciate music. I have now been to a few events as a listener and now a performer for the first time and I love it.

The night kicked off with Elliot Morris and his incredible guitar playing, soft but powerful vocals. I played after and enjoyed sharing songs and stories with the audience. E.W Harris then played a mighty set with a strong voice full of passion and emotion. All three of us finished the night off with a song each. It was an excellent evening.

A New Pickup: LR Baggs M1A

I have been testing this new pickup! I am mostly very happy with it but not sure if it will stay. Mostly a nice tone, sometimes a clacking sound. Still to do more road testing! Any tips ideas or suggestions on pickups let me know @adambakermusic

New Day EP

New Day EP

It goes without saying that the lyrics are fantastic, the melodies are brilliant and the songs catchy. Yet together with his vocals and quality of recording, these songs are a real hit. ‘Come Away’ is a wonderful standout song, New Day has a wicked beat and some stunning guitar work, the softness of Next To You is sublime and Weary Soul is so blues sounding the imagery instantly takes you away to New Orleans and is my favorite track on this EP by a long way.
